IoT How Internet of Things will (is) impacting data centres?

Today a new acronym is running from place to place "IoT"   -Internet of Things- but what does it mean? if you go to "techopedia ( -http://www.techopedia.com/definition/28247/internet-of-things-iot-)

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a computing concept that describes a future where everyday physical objects will be connected to the Internet and be able to identify themselves to other devices. The term is closely identified with RFID as the method of communication, although it also may include other sensor technologies, wireless technologies or QR codes.

Just a "buzz word"  or a trend that can rock our lives (not only in DCs´ industry /market?

Automatically , where all of those info will be managed .(process-storage connect)?; yes indeed in Data Centres.!!

Cloud Computing, Mobile gadgets, Automated cars, white goods, food, and almost everything in the NEAR future will turn our environment quite different from that we use to know. -believe it or not!-

So our industry will (is) push to have new ideas to be more flexible, modular, fast , reliable, to fulfill this kind of challenge.

OPErators will demand a short deployment to get on the marketing & sales requirements that markets / consumers will need. So all of us will have to make up new ways to solve such growth.
So solutions like  facilities "Modularization" will be a way to fulfill such needs, not only a full facility but even a cabinet or rack.

If you agree with me all of us have to keep (or start) thinking in terms of business -not only  DC / mission critical facilities bizz- of "THINGS"

or what do you think?
